For the Simplot Boise, Idaho project, the architect requested four free standing motorized retractable patio pergola cover systems that would meet local, IBC wind load, and seismic requirements. The architect specified a contemporary, modern, and very clean aesthetic thus the use of freestanding units. 

The purpose of the project was simple – to provide a “retreat” for employees, visitors, and guests for shade, heat, sun, glare, UV and heavy rain protection. The employee outdoor lunch area and other outdoor spaces were transformed. The Simplot retractable motorized pergola patio covers are truly a stunning example of outstanding design, function, and aesthetics as can be seen in the picture.

The rear of the house is shaped like a U, with a private patio tucked close to the house. A small round balcony sits over a window-lined, catty-cornered patio door. A wall of windows faces the door and balconies on the far side of the U. That small seating area gets a significant amount of sunlight as well as rain. The homeowner uses the patio frequently for entertaining and wanted to be able to use it in sunny weather along with the few rainy days in Los Angeles thus the use of a steep, wall to wall waterproof retractable pergola roof.

Nestled in the charming city of La Crosse, Wisconsin, the 67-room Charmant Hotel is a true gem that embodies individuality. As the city’s only boutique hotel, the Charmant beautifully blends the rich history of the original candy company that once occupied the building with a sleek, contemporary vibe. By adding several folding lateral arm retractable awnings, the Charmant not only expanded its patio seating but also created a more inviting atmosphere. The benefits didn’t stop there; the enhanced shading significantly cut down on air conditioning costs, while the option to fully retract the awnings allowed for warm sunlight to pour in during the winter months, creating a cozy and welcoming environment.

A funky restaurant known as the Rustic Goat in scenic Anchorage, Alaska known for its comfort food had two retractable pergola cover systems with a fixed corner angled roof for complete coverage installed. This project was a difficult one as it involved a ninety-degree, wrap-around corner, the corner of which could only be covered with fixed fabric.

The location and uniqueness of the project – the 2nd floor with a wrap-around corner balcony is the main reason the dealer chose to install this challenging project. The wrap-around corner had to be meticulously installed.
